Braxton your letters each week are so special. I love reading you testimony and feeling of your sweet spirit. I know you are working hard. This week for us was a little slower with the wedding over, I tried to finish taking down the Christmas decoration, still have the snowman up. Slowly I will get the house back in order I hope. We went and seen Brady and Crystal's little apartment, it is nice and cozy, and its not to far away. We got to face time Brody for a little bit, Miriah thinks that is so fun, and Bronson is getting his college applications done for UVU and BYUH. He is working really hard, on B day's this term he is going to work at 6am since he does not have class until after lunch. He is very determined to have money for school. He also has finished making up his 10 days of seminary make up. Now he knows it's just easier to go to class.
I have thought a lot about reverence this week. Last week in church their was a really good talk given, not that I could tell you what he really said, but in one of his personal experiences he shared how he was starting to go down a wrong path and questioned the gospel principals because he had let his life get so involved in worldly things. He worked for a company where he picked up samples off of the salt flats, and this one time he had this really long shift all by himself, and it was then when he got to feel peaceful, and reverent, and could think clearly and knew that he need to make a change in his life and get back on track. While he was talking it made me think of the Quick Sand analogy. Life is like the quick sand, the busier we get and the more we thrash around with all the things life is throwing at us the quicker we sink or move away from the spirit. But if we remain calm and make time to study, praying and follow the prophets council and have quiet moments the spirit can help us in our lives.
Just like in quicksand if you are still you will rise to the top and be able to get out of a dangerous situation. Quicksand might be the movies or music we are listening too, might be the many activities we have chosen to fill our time. I hope that as we ponder or have those reverent moments that we will be careful with what we are filling our days with, and know that every blessing comes form our Heavenly Father. I am so grateful for each one of you and for they way you are blessing my life and teaching me to be better.
