April 24, 2016 Soccer, Hollie "16" Birthday, Abigail is here!

This Beautiful Young Lady turned "16" today.  She is sweet when she is not tired, loves her brothers and sister.  She is a great student and an accomplished pianist.  She also gets good grades and works really hard.  Works at the Lehi Roller Mills, and got another job today, driving for a sweet neighbor.  Her favorite classes have been dance and seminary, she likes going to Hibachi House with the boys.
Hollie loves to spend time with her dad and she will do anything for him.
We found another picture on Facebook on the Reynosa Mexico post.  The little guys looks like he has your pants on Braxton?
This week was another busy week, soccer practice and games, we went to the school play, Joseph and the amazing technicolor dreamcoat.  It was really good.  Hollie had her piano competition, she messed up a little but still got a 95, which is really good.  Miriah played goalie for the first half of her game and then scored a goal in the second half.  Brittons game was away so we sent him with Tom.  He got two yellow cards, so he had to sit out the Saturday game.  It was cold on Saturday.
Brady and Crystal came to the game to watch Miriah.
Miriah got bored waiting for the ball to come to her end.
In the second half, she makes a goal, Photo credits go to Brady.

She was able to score with all the girls trying to stop her.  She is pretty determined.  Xander kept yelling from the car, "Go Biriah! Go Biriah!"  it was so funny.  Warren said, she is really good!

 Excited they made a goal.

Pretty cold.  The rest of us were in grandma's car.
For Hollie's Birthday we went bowling.  Brady, Crystal, Brody and Sadie took her to Texas Roadhouse on Friday night.  Josh Pfluegar was working had has her sit in the saddle and everyone sang to her.  She was embarrassed.  So fun for her to be spoiled by the big boys.

 Hollie finally got a strike!!!

You can't really see the score, but your mom won the girls team, since we played girls against the boys.

The boys and their girls continue to spoil Hollie for her birthday.  Shoes, shoes, shoes!

New saddles and converse, she is spoiled!!!

Kimmee and Lance's new baby girl got here on Tuesday  Little Abigail.  8:18 pm, 8 lbs 15 oz, 20.5 inches tall.

She is smiling at Miriah and Miriah was so happy she got to tend her for a few minutes by herself.

We went to a couple of farewells meetings today.  First Jake Ebert spoke and he did a really great job, he talked about Enduring to the End, and told his conversion story.  It has been two years since he made up his mind to go on a mission.  Lots of obstacles and things to over come and he is finally on his way to Las Vegas NV.  He was so funny, when he sent his papers in he remembers thinking that he hoped he didn't get called to Idaho, Wyo or Montana, but totally forgot Nevada was a state.  He was so funny.
Then we went to Mattie James's and Hannah Schwarz's, both of them did really great.  They will be great missionaries.  Mattie talked about the Song I am a Child of God.  She broke down the chorus and talked about each phrase.  Lead Me, Guide Me, Walk Beside Me. Teach Me All That I Must Do to Live With Him Someday.
Grandpa and Grandma just came to wish Hollie Happy Birthday and shared the devotional from the MTC tonight, The speaker started in Alma 26:27 and broke down each phase having the missionaries stand if it applied to them.  He spent the whole time talking about the 4 verses.
 Picture Kimmee sent today.

April 18, 2016 Bronson Last PROM

Miriah went a field trip to Camp Floyd.  She loved it and wants to go back to their summer camp.  She has asked me ten times since Friday.  On Saturday she and Anika walked to the CVS drug store on the corner and found all kinds of treasures.  They bought walkie talkies that they can talk to each other from their rooms.  She is so funny and a great helper, she really gets her work done.
Bronson and Maggie going to Prom.  Brady went to take pictures for me since I was at Britton's game.  I got there just in time to see the group pictures and take of few of them.  So glad Brady was around to help me.  Britton won his game, 4-0  He had a nice header right in the goal.  He wished I had been filming it since he played really well.  Miriah also had her first game of the season.  They did alright for not having a practice, they tied.

 Nice looking group.

 Bronson and Tyler Evert

 Cutest couple award!!!!

Bronson was very handsome in his tux, it had a gold vest under the jacket.
Maggie Penn had the prettiest dress, she is also the sweetest girls around.

We had Stake Conference this weekend, it was really great.  We had two general authorities come, C. Scott Grow, and Elder Brent Christensen.  Elder Christensen is in training with Elder Grow.  The Saturday night meeting was really good.  Pres. Smart talked about the Book of Mormon, and told some stories from when he was the mission pres in California and how it changes lives.  He interviewed a man for baptism that he felt like was not really ready, and that he was getting baptized for his wife.  He told him to go home and as he read the Book of Mormon to mark the scripture that were speaking to him and they would meet in a month so see how he was doing.   The question he but out their to us - What are the scriptures trying to teach me today?  As we read the Book of Mormon each day we can receive personal revelation for whatever circumstances are going on in our lives at that time.  Read for personal revelation everyday.
Dad got to go visiting with Pres Smart on Thursday night and when he got home, I was giving him a bad time about not waiting for me I wanted to go so I could hear Pres Smart talk.  You dad said that he is very quiet and that he had to carry the conversation.  Imagine that, Dad doing all the talking.

Who is going to be "16" this week?
Pres. and Sister Killpack of Orem Utah Mission, also spoke.  When they were called they didn't know where they were going so they sold their home and got everything in place to serve and then they got their assignment to preside over the Orem Utah Mission and live in their own home.  So they bought another home and live in Orem.  Kind of a funny story.  They say they are doing that more and more, so missionaries can live in their own homes. We live in the mission field.  Sister Killpack used one of my favorite scriptures 2 Nephi 25:26
Pres. Killpack talked about the difference between new baptisms and fellow shipping less actives, which one is more important.  Both are important but fellow shipping the less actives is more important because it leads to baptisms.  He said that we need to help them remember the feelings they once had.  Be our best selves, and kind.  The quote he used at the end of his talk I really like, "Ideals are like the stars, you cant touch them, but if you follow them, you will reach your destination.

Elder Christensen talked about reaching and rescuing those around us.  Think about who is helping me and who am I helping.
President Anderson talked about the sacrament and changing the words, they and them, to I and me, in the sacrament prayers.
Pres. Bailey talked about Testimony and the 4 sources that build our testimony from John Bytheway
Couldn't remember the temple president name that spoke, he talked about Christlike attributes and our example to people we don't even know that are watching and learning.  We need to have kindness, and charity, a desire to be obedient, we should be prayerful at all times.  He talked about the difference between child like vs childish. at the end he quoted Neil Maxwell -"In the end if you have not chosen Christ, it will not matter what you have chosen."
Elder Grow ended the conference by talking about What's in a Name? and the Pattern of Faith.  Three very important steps to keep the faith. Read, Pray and Attend Church.
It was a great conference, pray that we can remember how we felt and act on the inspiration we received during the meeting.
