April 18, 2016 Bronson Last PROM

Miriah went a field trip to Camp Floyd.  She loved it and wants to go back to their summer camp.  She has asked me ten times since Friday.  On Saturday she and Anika walked to the CVS drug store on the corner and found all kinds of treasures.  They bought walkie talkies that they can talk to each other from their rooms.  She is so funny and a great helper, she really gets her work done.
Bronson and Maggie going to Prom.  Brady went to take pictures for me since I was at Britton's game.  I got there just in time to see the group pictures and take of few of them.  So glad Brady was around to help me.  Britton won his game, 4-0  He had a nice header right in the goal.  He wished I had been filming it since he played really well.  Miriah also had her first game of the season.  They did alright for not having a practice, they tied.

 Nice looking group.

 Bronson and Tyler Evert

 Cutest couple award!!!!

Bronson was very handsome in his tux, it had a gold vest under the jacket.
Maggie Penn had the prettiest dress, she is also the sweetest girls around.

We had Stake Conference this weekend, it was really great.  We had two general authorities come, C. Scott Grow, and Elder Brent Christensen.  Elder Christensen is in training with Elder Grow.  The Saturday night meeting was really good.  Pres. Smart talked about the Book of Mormon, and told some stories from when he was the mission pres in California and how it changes lives.  He interviewed a man for baptism that he felt like was not really ready, and that he was getting baptized for his wife.  He told him to go home and as he read the Book of Mormon to mark the scripture that were speaking to him and they would meet in a month so see how he was doing.   The question he but out their to us - What are the scriptures trying to teach me today?  As we read the Book of Mormon each day we can receive personal revelation for whatever circumstances are going on in our lives at that time.  Read for personal revelation everyday.
Dad got to go visiting with Pres Smart on Thursday night and when he got home, I was giving him a bad time about not waiting for me I wanted to go so I could hear Pres Smart talk.  You dad said that he is very quiet and that he had to carry the conversation.  Imagine that, Dad doing all the talking.

Who is going to be "16" this week?
Pres. and Sister Killpack of Orem Utah Mission, also spoke.  When they were called they didn't know where they were going so they sold their home and got everything in place to serve and then they got their assignment to preside over the Orem Utah Mission and live in their own home.  So they bought another home and live in Orem.  Kind of a funny story.  They say they are doing that more and more, so missionaries can live in their own homes. We live in the mission field.  Sister Killpack used one of my favorite scriptures 2 Nephi 25:26
Pres. Killpack talked about the difference between new baptisms and fellow shipping less actives, which one is more important.  Both are important but fellow shipping the less actives is more important because it leads to baptisms.  He said that we need to help them remember the feelings they once had.  Be our best selves, and kind.  The quote he used at the end of his talk I really like, "Ideals are like the stars, you cant touch them, but if you follow them, you will reach your destination.

Elder Christensen talked about reaching and rescuing those around us.  Think about who is helping me and who am I helping.
President Anderson talked about the sacrament and changing the words, they and them, to I and me, in the sacrament prayers.
Pres. Bailey talked about Testimony and the 4 sources that build our testimony from John Bytheway
Couldn't remember the temple president name that spoke, he talked about Christlike attributes and our example to people we don't even know that are watching and learning.  We need to have kindness, and charity, a desire to be obedient, we should be prayerful at all times.  He talked about the difference between child like vs childish. at the end he quoted Neil Maxwell -"In the end if you have not chosen Christ, it will not matter what you have chosen."
Elder Grow ended the conference by talking about What's in a Name? and the Pattern of Faith.  Three very important steps to keep the faith. Read, Pray and Attend Church.
It was a great conference, pray that we can remember how we felt and act on the inspiration we received during the meeting.
