Brody and the team have traveled back to California again for this whole week.
They won Saturday nights game, Brody got to play for a few minutes.

This week at Lone Peak we had the Hope assemble and the speaker was Chad Hymas. he was amazing, probably the best assembly we have had in a long time. He arrived at Lone Peak in a Helicopter. He has been a quadriplegic since he was 27 years old, when he was in a accident with a 2000 bale of hay fell on him when he didn't heed the warning sign on his tractor since he was in a hurry. One Choice, changed his life forever.
When he was in the hospital, his dad brought him this poem-
Invictus
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears

And yet the menace of the years

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,

A few of the things he told the students-
Be willing to take the blame even if it's not your fault
Be Proactive in looking for ways to serve,
make good use of your hands.
Don't make decisions when your in a hurry.
Make better choices so that people are better because of you. Be the Assister!
It's about how you make other people feel
Stay away from drugs and pornography they will paralyze you more than he is paralyzed.
Focus on taking the "I" out of everything.
Show people that you love them by what you do.
Embrace your challenges head on.
He was funny when he talked about teaching his boys to date,
It's like fishing, a lot of catch and release.
Hollie and Sydney stayed out in the freezing cold with me to watch the Helicopter land.
This week Lone Peak played Westlake and Riverton, both ever close games and Lone Peak was lucky to win both.
Miriah made 12 points in her game, she is a hustler.
Patiently waiting to go back into the game.
Britton won his game too. They were lucky to win, they played a good team.
Dustin Pace reported on his mission today and did a great job, He shared his testimony of the plan of salvation and how it changed peoples lives. He told an analogize relating cow cutting to missionary work. You have a horse and a rider, which is the two companions, you have a herd of cows that can be the world and each individual cow can be the investigators, then you have 4 people in the pen to help you, which could be the members, ward mission leader, mission pres. etc. If you had your horse are having a bad day your probably not going to be able to separate out the cow. If your turn back help in the pen are not helping you then your investigator will not progress like them should. There are just so many variables and things that can go wrong or not how we want them to go.
He also talked about time and how we use our time. Are we using our time to show Heavenly Father that we love him. Are we lazy or are we productive in helping share the gospel.
